In terms of percentage, the fresh covid-19 cases that were recorded in the week is highest with 33% since the mid of December. The seven days from March 8 to 15 have received nearly 1.56 lakh cases and it is anticipated that the covid cases may even get doubled with the coming few weeks.

On Sunday, the fresh cases received were more than 26,000, which was the highest spike in a single day. Along with the cases, the fatalities have also surged to 975, recorded in the last week of February.

Maharashtra remained the highest accounting for 63% of active covid cases, followed by Gujrat, Kerala, and Delhi with more than 1000 active cases.
