Russia has announced its victory with the vaccine for COVID-19 and has now become the first ever country to have an FDA approved coronavirus vaccine. The vaccine, which has been developed by the Gamaleya Institute in Moscow in collaboration with the Russian Ministry of Defence, was granted the approval on August 11

This vaccine has been under the radar as this vaccine had undergone the phase trials pretty quickly as compared to normal vaccine trials. There had been news that these vaccines had completed phase 1 and phase 2 trials within 2 months, whereas, these phases take a few years to produce results given normal circumstances.

This Russian vaccine isn’t the only one on which everyone has pinned their hopes, there have been more than 160 vaccine candidates and more than 6 of them have reached their Phase 3 trials.
