Mexico to take part in Sputnik V Clinical Trials

At least 2000 doses of the Russian Covid-19 vaccine have been offered to Mexico. Mexico is to take part in the clinical trials of the vaccine, said Foreign Minister Marcelo Ebrard.

Xinhua news agency quoted Ebrard on Thursday saying, “very good news because once again we are gaining time.”

On Wednesday, the minister and Russian Ambassador to Mexico Viktor Koronelli met to discuss the participation of Mexico in the testing of ‘Sputnik V’ vaccine developed by Russia. It was developed by Gamaleya National Center of Epidemiology and Microbiology.

Embrard said, “It will arrive in Mexico to begin testing. I will announce the date very soon, but yesterday both the offer and the acceptance were formalized.”
