The Bauchi State House of Assembly has passed a bill banning NaijaBet and Bet9ja and all forms of gambling n the state,
saying both Islam and Christianity do not encourage or support it.
NairaBet is owned by Ibadan-born businessman and politician, Oloye Ain Alabi.
Those who sponsored the bill were the Speaker of the House, Kawuwa Damina (Darazo), Maryam Bagel (Dass), Salisu Ajilanga (Gamawa), Ibrahim Hassan (Duguri), Yusuf Dadiye, Yusuf Nuhu (Ganjuwa), Idris Idris (Dambam), Abdullahi Abdulkadir (Bura), Garba Musa (Sakwa) and Markus Makama (Bogoro).
Tukur said, “The bill passed the first, second reading and third readings instantly on the floor of the house because the honorable members of the house look at its importance.
“The bill will ensure that gambling is not only banned but will also sanitize the morality of our youth and children.”
