Lagos NHIS Holds Workshop for Healthcare Providers

Lagos NHIS Holds Workshop for Healthcare ProvidersThe National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) has embarked on a series of workshops for directors and other high-level representatives of newly accredited hospitals, pharmacies, laboratories, optometry, dental and physiotherapy clinics to ensure effective healthcare coverage to all registered enrollees of the scheme.

Lagos Zonal Coordinator, Mrs. Awala Ebijuwa, delivering the welcome address at the education workshop, said “the mandate of the NHIS is to ensure easy access to qualitative and affordable healthcare to all subscribing individuals irrespective of gender, age or economic status.”
National President, Health Care Providers Association of Nigeria (HCPAN), Dr. Umar Sanda, urged HCPs to attend NHIS fora instead of assigning such duties to employees who may not effectively communicate the operational details of the scheme to them.
The state chairman of the HCPAN, Dr, Ademola Aina, described the workshop as very rich and highly educational. He commended the NHIS for the workshop and urged HCPAN members to make personal attendance at these workshops a priority.
